No. Notarization is a separate legal procedure where a notary public attests the identity of a signatory or the authenticity of a copy, but does not validate the translation itself. Canadian authorities, including IRCC, require translations certified by an accredited translator — not a notarized translation of a non-certified version. If you are unsure which one your destination authority requires, contact us before ordering.

For federal procedures (IRCC, citizenship, federal courts, federal regulators), certified translations from any CTTIC-affiliated association are recognized across Canada. For specific provincial procedures, the certification may need to come from the relevant provincial association. Our intake system identifies the correct accreditation based on the intended use you indicate at checkout.

Yes. All translations produced by Certilingua are certified by accredited translators meeting IRCC's requirements as published in the IRCC officer manuals. If a translation we produce is rejected by IRCC for reasons attributable to the translation itself, we correct it at no additional cost or refund the full amount paid.

No. IRCC explicitly prohibits translations made by the applicant, by family members, or by the applicant's immigration representative. Translations must be produced by an accredited third-party translator. This is one of the most common reasons for application delays and refusals.

No. In Canada, a certified translator or translation agency cannot certify a translation they did not personally complete or fully review. For professional and ethical reasons, the translator must be able to personally attest to the accuracy and completeness of the translated document before issuing a certification.

Yes. By default, you receive a digitally signed PDF. On request (no additional fee for one copy), we send an original paper copy with the translator's wet signature and stamp by Canada Post tracked mail anywhere in Canada or internationally.
